Most cracks require you to create outbound rules in Windows Firewall to block Sphere Manager.exe and Studio One.exe from accessing the internet. This prevents the software from phoning home to Presonus’s license servers.
: Removing existing PreSonus folders in %PROGRAMDATA% and %APPDATA% to prevent license conflicts.
The genuine Sphere Manager wants to talk to PreSonus. It wants to log you in. R2R had to essentially neuter the application's ability to dial out while convincing it that it was successfully logged in and authorized. They had to bypass the online authentication handshake entirely.
